About the Program

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers will present a webinar on advanced financial and ethical issues. The webinar will be Friday, October 14, 2022. The only presentation will be the live webinar. There will be no video presentotion at other locations or on other dates.

The first segment of the webinar will be a presentation by Attorney J. David Krekeler, discussing bankruptcy issues in family law cases. The presentation will touch on pre and post-judgment stays, domestic support obligations, the relief available under chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcies, and much more.

The second segment will focus on cryptocurrency, with Dorothy Haraminac as the presenter. Ms. Haraminac is a Certified Forensic Examiner, and one of the first courtqualified experts in Bitcoin asset and cryptocurrency tracing. Ms. Haraminac will be followed by a presentation from Our Family Wizard.

The final session will be an ethics discussion featuring Attorney Timothy Samuelson, director of the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s Office of Lawyer Regulation, and Attorney Timothy Pierce, ethics counsel for the State Bar of Wisconsin, moderated by Attorney Margaret Zickuhr.

Location: Online

Tuition: $100 for the half day program. Tuition includes course materials. Please include your email address when you register so we can notify you when the written materials are available for download.

Cancellations: Refunds will be made in full if cancellation is received at least 72 hours prior to the seminar. There is no refund for cancellation made within 72 hours of the program (you will, however, receive access to the electronic course materials).

Application will be submitted to the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners for not less than 3.5 CLE hours, including 1.5 hours of ethics credit. Credit has not yet been approved. Partial credits allowed based on actual attendance.
